Giving back

Improving and making the world a better place is part of the Sysdoc DNA. We’ve been proudly supporting a wide range of charities and community projects since the very beginning. As we have grown, so has our ability to give something back and help to improve the world for others.

Kids Big Day Out

Sysdoc supports the Kids Big Day Out which is an annual event run by the Southern Stars Charitable Trust. This event helps raise funds and awareness for Riding for the Disabled, Women's Refuge and The Brain Injury Association, Auckland.

New Zealand Vaulting

Sysdoc NZ is proudly sponsoring the New Zealand Vaulting, who are attending the World Equestrian Games this September (2014). This will be the first Vaulting team from New Zealand to compete in the WEG, so good luck girls!

National Parks and Conservation Foundation (Founding Sponsor)

The New Zealand National Parks and Conservation Foundation aims to challenge and enable business, private individual and visitors to contribute to the conservation estate for the benefit of all. The Foundation operates as the strategic partner with Department of Conservation to:

  • manage a private endowment fund,
  • attract sponsorship monies from all levels of business and community, and
  • build relationships with well organised, highly motivated conservation groups.

We have supported the Foundation as founding sponsor.

Life Flight Trust (Community Partner)

Life Flight is a charity providing nationwide air ambulance services and the Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter. If you suffer a medical emergency or are involved in a serious accident the time saved by flying could save your life. Every six hours someone urgently needs their help. Many New Zealanders owe their lives to this valuable service. For every mission flown, Life Flight requires $2,500 from the community to make it happen.

Sysdoc are proud to be a Life Flight Community Partner and sponsor a mission each year so that they can continue to perform their valuable services and help members of our community in their time of need.

Prompt Speech Therapy

We have sponsored a speech language therapist to provide twenty children from the Wellington Down Syndrome Association (WDSA) with free group speech therapy.

St Saviour's and St Olave's School (Southwark, London) Netball team

Sysdoc sponsored the netball team and provided netball kits including uniforms to the team. The team proudly won their grand final in that year.

Christchurch Earthquake Appeal

Sysdoc people undertook a number of initiatives to help the residents of the city impacted by the earthquake. These included fund raising events with other organisations, sponsoring a breakfast meeting and completing sponsored activities such as running and walking.

In addition, some of our intrepid staff scaled the dizzy heights of London's famous Gherkin in aid of the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal. All Sysdoc participants completed the 1097-step, 38-floor challenge and did us proud. Between them, they collected over £3000 in sponsorship, contributing to an overall figure of £275k raised by the event.

Aviva Family Violence Services

Katherine Corich hosted an event in Christchurch, New Zealand to raise money for Aviva Family Violence Services. The event included a Leadership / Process Improvement Workshop.

Global Angels

Sysdoc has been an active supporter of the charity Global Angels for the past three years, supporting the Global Angels' Water for Life Project in Tsavo, South Kenya. We have provided sponsorship toward the bio-sand water filter factory, helping the women to become financially independent and cover the costs of their children’s education. We have also sponsored water wells provided by Global Angels to various locations in India.

William Wallace Awards

Sue Elsworth recently attended the William Awards ceremony at the Prime Ministers house (Premier House) in Wellington and presented the Sysdoc Scholarship Award.

These awards honour outstanding young people in care, many of whom have overcome significant barriers and gone on to great achievements. The awards go towards helping the young person pursue their dreams of tertiary, vocational or leadership training.

Hayes and Ealing Vikings Rugby League

Sysdoc sponsored a new community Rugby League club for the children of Hayes and Ealing that wish to play the sport but have no way of travelling the vast distances to train and compete. We provided shirts for the under 15 squad and also have helped get new coaches qualified.

Several members our global team participate each year in Movember to raise money and awareness of Men's health issues. There is healthy competition between those who get involved on who can raise the most money.
